The Adelaide Park Lands Transparency Project brings together public information about decisions affecting Adelaide’s Park Lands, primarily documents obtained from government agencies through Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
It's an open resource for residents, journalists, researchers, community groups and anyone who wants to better understand how the Adelaide Park Lands are being managed and developed.
The project is organised by volunteers who care about Adelaide’s Park Lands as a unique network of public city parks.
We believe decisions affecting the Park Lands should be open to public scrutiny, and that ministers and government agencies should be accountable for those decisions. Access to information obtained via FOI helps people understand government activity and participate more effectively in the policies that shape the Adelaide Park Lands.
The project currently focuses on two major South Australian state government developments affecting Adelaide’s Park Lands.
We’re investigating how the proposed $96 million Adelaide street circuit redevelopment at Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi (Park 16) is being planned and funded, what it means for the Park Lands, and its impacts for the broader community.
We’re interested in the decisions behind the $45 million North Adelaide Golf Course redevelopment for LIV Golf at Possum Park / Pirltawardli (Park 1), including its environmental impacts and what it means for future public access to the Park Lands.
